ABOUT ME
Started learning piano at the age of 5 and started composing music since the age of 9, music has played a huge part in my life. Joel has been part of the Singapore Symphony Children's Choir and has performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra from 2006 to 2009. He has achieved Grade 8 ABRSM in Piano Performance and had 3 consecutive academic awards titled "Director's Roll" during his studies for Diploma of Music and Audio Technology at Singapore Polytechnic. Joel is currently studying in Berklee College of Music where he will continue to pursue his passion of music making and production.

Back to the Groove
Back to the Groove is an old school instrumental with multiple elements such as Funk, 80's Groove, Jazz and Pop. The uniqueness about this piece is the combination of acoustic and electronic instruments. The story is about the enjoyment of music and just having fun, thus the syncopated rhythmic drive that gives the exhilarating feeling and groove to the listener from the funky bass lick to the groovy vocoder and to the final big bang of synthesiser solos. Music is meant to be enjoyed and is meant to relax one's troubled and stressed lifestyle.
Friend
Friend is a R&B song with the reminiscent story of school graduation. The story of the good old days, chilling out with friends, eating at the usual corner of the canteen and staying up in the middle of the night to rush school homework. This song was written to thank the many treasured friendships that were bonded during the school term.
